Warranty Information for Viking Pool Cues

Viking cues are meticulously crafted in the U.S.A. from the finest materials and subject to the strictest quality control standards in the industry.

Viking Cue Mfg., Inc. warrants against warpage and all components of the cue for the life of the product, but excludes replaceable parts such as the tip, ferrule, finish and bumper. Viking cues covered by this warranty will be repaired or replaced without charge.

In the unlikely event you discover a flaw in your Viking pool cue or should it become damaged, please do not attempt to repair your cue. Contact your nearest authorized Viking Cue dealer or contact Viking Cue Mfg., Inc. directly for instructions.

This warranty applies to Viking cues purchased from an authorized Viking retailer or distributor and must be accompanied by a copy of the original sales receipt. The warranty is non-transferable and all claims are resolved at the discretion of Viking Cue Mfg., Inc. Viking does not warrant its cues against any damage caused by third parties.

The warranty is void if your Viking cue has after-market products or if it has been subjected to mishandling, misuse, abuse, or worked on by an entity other than Viking Cue Mfg., Inc.

Cue Care and Maintenance Tips

Protecting your Viking Cue
When you’re not using your Viking cue, put it in a protective case. Take care to guard your Viking cue from extreme environmental conditions: heat and cold, humidity and dryness. Do not store your Viking cue in your car!

Maintaining your Viking Cue
Your Viking cue will likely end up with nicks and scratches from normal play. We recommend the Q-Wiz shaft conditioner for use with Viking cues. This and other cue care products are available at your nearest authorized Viking Cue dealer.

Leaning your Viking Cue
Avoid leaning your Viking cue against a wall or counter. Any kind of side pressure such as from your cue sliding down a wall to the floor will leave your Viking cue vulnerable to breakage. If you must lean your Viking cue, do so as close to the wall or counter as possible. Better yet, lay your Viking cue on the table in front of the rack. Lastly, don’t lend your Viking cue to anyone else — no one will take care of your Viking cue the way you will.

Why We Recommend Viking Pool Cues

At The Billiard Warehouse, we highly recommend Viking Pool Cues. Here are a few reasons why Viking cues have earned our highest recommendation:

1. Playability
As a pool player, I am very concerned about the playability of the cues we sell. I know that our customers expect excellence and Viking cues deliver. Viking cues have a solid hit with low deflection. Feel, balance, energy, quality and control are all very important characteristics. We also recommend choosing a cue that offers a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects including warpage. Viking cues are easy to control because they have an excellent shaft taper that is not too stiff nor too whippy. We are continually impressed by the excellent playability of Viking cues.

2. Quality
We are very concerned about the quality of the cues we sell. The quality of all components of Viking cues is simply excellent. The quality control at the Viking factory is outstanding, so it is extremely rare that we receive a return of a Viking pool cue.

3. Custom Options
Viking offers more custom options than anyone. You can have your Viking cue built to your specifications — usually in less than three weeks. Custom options available on each Viking pool cue include:

  1. Weight
  2. Shaft diameter
  3. Brand of tip
  4. Wrap option — 27 linen combinations and two leather choices
  5. Stain option where applicable
  6. Pearl option where applicable
  7. Vinyl option where applicable
  8. Shaft length
  9. Jump/break option
  10. Name engraving

4. Designs
Viking offers more than 100 different cue designs. Between all the different Viking models and custom options, it is easy to find the cue that is exactly right for you.

5. Lifetime Warranty including Warpage
Viking pool cues come with a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects including warpage. You can rest assured that if cared for properly, your Viking pool cue will give you a lifetime of service. You simply cannot get this guarantee with an import cue. Click here for warranty information.

6. Made in the USA
Regardless of whether your needs are great playability, flawless quality, custom options, outstanding designs, high-performance shafts, or a lifetime warranty — Viking pool cues are proudly made in the USA. We recommend Viking Pool Cues!

History of Viking Pool Cues

In the early 1960s, Viking Cue Mfg., Inc. founder Gordon Hart began making two-piece pool cues in the basement of his poolroom in Stoughton, Wisconsin. Mr. Hart traveled to various tournaments to sell his cues. In a short period of time, Viking cues became popular with many of the top players. As the 1960s were coming to a close, Gordon sold his poolroom and moved the cue business to its present location in Madison, Wisconsin. He expanded production capabilities and began selling cues throughout the United States and abroad.

The company grew steadily through the 1970s and 1980s. Then, in 1986 the major motion picture “The Color of Money,” starring Paul Newman and Tom Cruise, was released and created a boom in the billiard industry. Sales of Viking cues skyrocketed, and the company experienced phenomenal growth as a result.

As the 1980s came to a close, Mr. Hart began updating machinery and investing in state-of-the-art equipment to ensure a quality product. Promotional efforts increased with an extensive advertising and public relations program coordinated by Gordon’s wife, Nancy, which helped make Viking a household name. Nancy was very active in the Billiard Congress of America in the 1990s, serving on its board of directors. Years earlier she served on the board of the Billiard & Bowling Institute of America, and was the first woman elected as president of that organization.

Viking is known for its generous support of various tournaments and organizations including the International Challenge of Champions, Men’s Trick Shot Magic, Sudden Death 7-Ball, Skins Billiards Championship, Texas Hold’em Billiards Championship, Viking Nine Ball Tour, and National Wheelchair Pool Players Association.

By the mid-1990s, the company hired a full sales staff to handle the needs of their constantly growing distributors and dealers throughout the world. In 1994, Mr. Hart was honored with the first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award from The American Cuemaker’s Association. In 1995, Viking introduced a whole new line of cues with an entirely new way of cataloging the product — large, almost-to-scale photos depicting every intricate detail of each cue from joint to bumper.

Together with state-of-the-art equipment, technology, materials and skilled craftspeople, Viking continues to be a top cue manufacturer in the industry. Watch for more great cues from Viking!
